Learn basic techniques for writing features and reviews for the web and print magazines. The emphasis is on practical skills that can get your work published. Discover how magazines work and how you can get involved.

Janis Bright is an award winning magazine journalist. She writes for national magazines and newspapers and edits High Tide, the Scarborough online arts and culture magazine.

This workshop with focus on how to develop an initial idea to produce a published work. It will show you how to prepare your writing and how to approach publishers. Bring your ideas for a book or just gain an insight into the publishing business.

Roger Osborne is the best selling author of a range of published titles covering history, popular culture, fiction and science including The Floating Egg.

An entertainment of reading, live music, songs and pictures presented by John Jones, Heather Stoney, Frank James, John Noblet and company. This concert explores the railway experience through poetry and writing, painting and music.

Venue: Scholar's Bar Scarborough
Running Time: 2 1/2 hours
Price: Free

A chance for poets to perform their own work. Anyone can enter. Applaud loudly for your favourite, make them a winner! Organised by Scarborough Poetry Workshop. Maximum of 20 contestants. Enter on the night.
